Weekend Wrap • Dec 9th 2023
The Weekend Wrap is like a tie up of the past week—perceptions and thoughts and whatever pops up. I also have a Research and Diversions section.
A pretty ordinary week which is perfect.
Not much happening this week which is perfect for me at the moment.
The usual shenanigans are going on out there in the big wide world. I’m taking a break with my rant this weekend so we jump straight into research and diversions.
Best to you and for the week ahead.

Research and Diversions
The drugs were good, the music was good the sex was good. I can relate to that. Oh well — all good things come to an end and the 90’s was a wild ride for sure. I have never heard of this writer. A notable journey. (Guardian).
A short analysis of Yeat’s Second Coming. The famous poem about an inflexion point or phase transition in society. Pertinent in any times one might say. The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity. Sound Familiar? (Interesting Literature).
China owed more than $1 trillion in Belt and Road debt. You lend money for shonky projects you get shonky payments back - or not. (Economic Times).
21 of the funniest animal photos of all time. Delightful stuff. (I know — but these are really good). (Guardian).
Israel’s failed bombing campaign in Gaza. Very insightful article on how Israel is making things a hell of lot worse for itself with collective punishment. Such a strategy won’t defeat Hamas and never work in the fog of war — ever. (Foreign Affairs).
