The Weekend Wrap is like a tie up of the past week—perceptions and thoughts and whatever pops up. I also have a Research and Diversions section.
Best to you and for the week ahead.

Another Far Right Dude Floats to the Top
What is it about these right wing dudes and their haircuts? It’s become a real fashion prerequisite for leadership. Silly hairdo’s are in for the populists. Lefties used to be outrageous in the hair department. Not these days.
This past week Wilder’s PVV party won the most seats in the Dutch parliament. He is very quietly spoken but in parliament he fires up and apparently can be hilariously funny.
So if you look at some of the democratic elections around the world of late there is a marked lurch to the right despite a large country like Brazil plus Poland going against the trend:
New Zealand: Landslide win for the centre-right National party. Incumbent left leaning party loses (14th Oct).
Argentina: Swing to the far right from centre left with election of president Javier Milei. Strong win (19th Nov).
Netherlands: Big swing to the far right from centre left with Geert Wilders’ PVV party picking up a massive 37 seats (22nd Nov).
Slovakia: Mixed bag of parties and factions but conservatives lose out (30th Sept).
Poland: Coalition of centre and left leaning parties strong victory. The incumbent main right wing party loses (15th Oct).
Brazil: Swing to the left from far right incumbent Bolsonaro with election of president Lula da Silva. Narrow win (30th Oct).
And in 2022
Hungary: Incumbent far right wing prime minister Victor Orban’s showing Fidesz increased it’s margin. (3rd April 2022)
Italy: Centre-right coalition led by Giogia Melonis Brothers of Italy (a radical-right party with neo-fascists roots) winning an absolute majority of seats in parliament (25th Sept 2022).
France: On her third attempt, Le Penn added almost 3 million votes to her tally from 2017 and surpassing 40 percent of the vote. Not since World War II has the nationalist far right come this close to power in France (25th April 2022).

5m long hair inspired by Dua the coconut religion — some go all the way and this dude is not a populist vying for power (Guardian).
The truth about tarot — whether divining ancient wisdoms or elevating the art of cold reading, tarot is a form of therapy. Great article (Aeon).
The likely cause of addiction has been discovered and it may surprise you. Changing hearts and minds on addiction. Nice one (Huffington).
